Dr. Sudhanshu Banka

Dr. Sudhanshu Banka is a Patna-based Ophthalmologist specialising in phacoemulsification, corneal and refractive surgery. He has an MBBS, which he obtained from TN Medical College, Mumbai and an MS in Ophthalmology from the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Guwahati. In addition, Dr. Banka completed comprehensive, long-term fellowships in general ophthalmology, and in corneal and refractive surgery. He was the recipient of several merit scholarships during his undergraduate years.

Dr. Banka is available for consultation at the Banka Eye Hospital, which he set up in April 2014. Prior to this he was designated as Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Raj Retina and Eye Care Centre from January to June 2014, and at the ASG Eye Hospital from August 2013 till January 2014.

Dr. Sudhanshu Banka is skilled in high-volume, high-quality cataract surgeries, having performed over 8,000 manual small incision cataract surgery (SICS) procedures and over 1,000 phacoemulsification operations. He also has considerable expertise and experience in corneal surgeries, including penetrating keratoplasty or corneal transplant (100+), anterior segment trauma repair (50+), pterygium surgery (600+) and other minor corneal surgery. Dr. Banka is also highly proficient in refractive surgery such as LASIK and ICL implantation. Other surgical procedures that he has performed include glaucoma triple procedure, DCT, DCR, entropion correction, excision biopsy, squint correction, intravitreal injections, etc.
